What is the difference between Living and Drawing Room!

In the world of interior design, though the two represent separate realities, the terms “living room” and “drawing-room” are often used interchangeably. So what are the differences between the two? Even though they both designate a seating type, they do not both designate the same space.
What is a living room?
Sometimes referred to as a sitting room or lounge, the living room is the space where homeowners and family members gather together to spend time. It’s a space designed for recreation but also for entertainment, space where visiting guests are welcomed. Compared with the “drawing room” the term living room is relatively new.
What is a drawing-room?
The term appeared in the 18th century and designates a space that is used mainly to entertain the guests. It’s not a room where homeowners would spend their free time, but more like the pre- and post-dinner space where guests sit.
Location
It is also possible to tell the two rooms apart by judging their location within the house. Typically, the drawing-room is located near the entrance and close to the front door, allowing guests to go directly inside without having to go through other rooms. On the other hand, the living room often finds itself at the center of the house.
Furniture and design
In general, a living room is furnished with comfortable chairs, sofas, recliners, and often features a fireplace and a media unit with TV. The decor may include items such as artwork, family photographs framed, etc. On the other hand, the drawing-room is a more formal space. The decor is kept simple and is predominantly functional.
